Did @JoeBiden (husband of @DrBiden) become #POTUS because @Pontifex declared this 'a #YearOfSaintJoseph? (that's the #Joseph who Raised #LordJesus; not one of ...) | @MySundayMass @church_POP

(... the twelve other "Joseph"s in The Bible, nor one of the
few I'm related-to, nor one of several others we all know.)

'That name' (below-hyperlinked to a discussion about the news (the celebration that Pope Francis announced started last December 8th)) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...

The modern version of the name “Joseph” is built on ancient words that mean "to Add, Increase" (the Greek Ἰωσήφ (Ióséph) is from the Hebrew יוֹסֵף (Yoseph) "he Increases"). #Joe #Josephine #Josephus #Jehosaphat

Learning more about The Year of Saint Joseph:
  • Starting with the "Special Indulgences ('get out of Purgatory FREE'-cards)" that "our Year of Saint Joseph provides-for" ... to get an Indulgence, we are required to completely detach from all sin through
    • 'doing' (or is it 'taking'?) the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist
    • offering of our pain and hardships to God while reciting an act of piety in honor of Saint Joseph (e.g. To You, O Blessed Joseph)
    • praying for the Pope's intentions (usually with repetitions of the Our Father and/or Hail Mary)
    • participating in the Year of Saint Joseph in one of seven ways:
      • Meditating on the Our Father for 30 minutes
      • Carrying-out a corporal- or spiritual work of mercy

      • Reciting the Holy Rosary with your family (or with your future spouse)

      • Entrusting your daily activity to Saint Joseph's protection, invoking his intercession

      • Praying to Saint Joseph (okay, "through" Saint Joseph) for persecuted Christians---reciting the Litanies to St. Joseph or the Akathistos to St. Joseph (for the Byzantine tradition) or another prayer to St. Joseph approved in a liturgical tradition

      • Reciting  any legitimately approved prayer or act of piety in honor of St. Joseph (for a Plenary Indulgence) on March 19, May 1, the 19th of every month, and every Wednesday

      • Attending a spiritual day retreat that includes this St. Joseph meditation:
"Saint Joseph--an authentic man of faith--invites us to rediscover the filial relationship with Our Heavenly Father, to renew fidelity to prayer, and to listen and correspond with profound discernment to the will of Our Heavenly Father."

... okay, not necessarily that meditation; that's the priest's explanation of why you need a Prayer of Saint Joseph (like one of these 7 Prayers to Saint Joseph that Every Catholic Should Know).

    • These three ways (to pray for the Indulgence granted through the Intercession of Saint Joseph) were mentioned especially for those of us who are shut-in:
      • The half-hour meditation on the Our Father
      • Asking Saint Joseph to intercede for those seeking jobs, aiding them in finding dignifying work
      • Entrusting your daily activity to Saint Joseph's protection (including/substituting your pain & suffering for the work-struggles others have)
  • Some Basic Facts about The Year of St. Joseph:
    • The reason-why it started on December 8, 2020: Because that was the 150th anniversary of Pope Pius IX's proclamation that St. Joseph (the Worker) is Quemadmodum Deus (Patron of the Universal Church).
    • Pope Francis also issued an Apostolic Letter Patris corde (With a Father's Heart), proclaiming the shining faith of 'the man who goes unnoticed ... a daily, discreet and hidden presence ... an intercessor, a support and a guide in times of trouble.'
    • Pope Francis is a devotee of Saint Joseph (I wouldn't be surprised of Joseph was Francis's patron (back when he was still "Jorge Mario Bergoglio")
