She Asked, "Are You Praying for a #Spouse?" I Should've Said, "Yes ... like Jesus Prayed for His Peace." | #Spousage #Spousal #Espoused #Espousal

'That word' (below-hyperlinked to Jesus' Prayer about His Oncoming Death) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...

The word “Spouse” is built on words that mean “to |Make an |Offering, Perform a |Rite” (Sponsor ... also supporting "|Bride, Groom, Betrothed, a |Married Woman (Wife) in Relation to her |Wedded |Partner-Man (the Husband)").

A friend of a cousin–as we were introducing ourselves to each other, finding out how we were connected to 'the family hosting the party'–and she asked me, "So, are you praying for a wife?"

I should've just said, "Yes"–maybe following it with the "in the Lord's good time"- or "if the Lord wills it"-tropes–but I wanted to be honest. And nobody's asked me 'if I'm praying to get married' before ... I didn't have a "ready answer," so I 'deflected' with a little bit about how prayer works—describing it with the Scripture from Joshu-- from Deuteronomy (tho I think God was speaking to Joshua, if not Moses):
'I set before you blessings & curses; life & death ... choose life, that you and your children may live.'
She went on to seek reassurance, "But you do believe that Jesus saved us from sin by dying on The Cross, right?" And I should've said, "Yes ... but the Great Commission was not 'Go make everyone worship Me,' but 'Go and make Disciples.'"

And I did make 'the second part of that reply' eventually, but–perplexed for a second at her description of "sin" as if it were 'something we needed salvation-from'–I told her how I look at it—Sin is the Evil Wolf (of The Two Wolves)
