The word “Adenoids” is built on words that mean “Internal Organ (Gland, Inguinal) + Form” (today, the term might apply more to 'Adenoidal Growths' ... as (checking with WebMD) 'the Adenoid' is a gland that shrinks away to nothing in your adolescence).
