The word “Tax” carries the scent of “to Touch, Handle” (to Burden, put Strain on, Censure, Reprove, Enter on a List, Enroll).

I hadn't known that 'Wealth' was so-separate from 'Wages' ... possibly because they're "the same currency" (an "earned" dollar buys as much fuel as an "inherited" dollar).
