I don't know if he was 'a decent person' or 'an upstanding citizen' or what, but Walter Cronkite's "And That's the Way It Is" reassured his viewers that CBS just delivered the recent events 'the way it actually happened, without changing it to fit their sponsors' message or their audiences' curiousity or anything that would mar the truth of their witness'
(sure, maybe THEIR SOURCES were incorrect and/or dishonest; but that was not (and still IS not) CBS News' fault, they were nothing but deliverers of the view-package ... like The Eye (
