I saw (another) introduction of Army-Vet, Rhodes Scholar, 'Harvard Grad' (which may be implied when I said 'Rhodes Scholar' ... I forget ...), pianist, Mayor & Presidential-candidate Pete Buttigieg on CBS Sunday Morning, and that (it's pronounced 'BOOT-edge-EDGE') was the main thing I wanted to remind everyone—

... mostly because 'the way I heard it' (whether the people saying it 'meant it that way' or not) was "BOOTY-gig." And 'BOOT-edge-EDGE' isn't "a very big change," but ... it's like the difference between 'GEEZ-us' and 'HEY-zeus' (both "Jesus").

And after the CBS Sunday Morning report, I think I'm a fan. I don't know if that's different from being a 'supporter' (except in the obvious ways—mainly 'that I'm not "pledging my vote to him" when the voting-booths open' & 'that I'm not donating any money to his campaigns'). I like to think of it more as "I'll be on your team when you win (rather than 'win-or-lose')."

Maybe that's something for all candidates to remember: you are all American citizens. 'Many will Enter, One will "Take the Office",' but "your loss" will not change your status. Having 'Pledged Allegiance' to this republic/nation, you 'uphold' ("support") the authority of The Elected Candidate.

Yes, 'the person who takes the office' will definitely be human and therefore may have many-many failings the comedy/news/entertainment-media will repeatedly flog them with (even if they have to do so with imaginary stories). And The President will welcome this constant hammering, as it will serve as the smith's instrument to forge their good actions into a proud blade that will point our nation to a brighter future.


Will 'BOOT-edge-edge' be the metal that the day's entertainment will form into an unbreakable, shining spear? Let's look at the substance that he began with (before he shaped it with years of military service, scholarship & city-management) ... the name ...

“Buttigieg” carries the scent of “Owner/Father of the Chickens/Hens (Maltese BUTTIĠIEĠ), Servant of the People (Albanian)”—a name that belonged to a family of Fruit- & Candy producers starting in the late 1800s.
