The true sense of the word "SPAM" is either the recent SPAM-ads' "Sizzle Pork And Mmm" or a conjunction of "Spiced Ham" (NOT "Something Posing As Meat" ... the "internet junk mail"-sense was coined by Usenet users after March 31, 1993, when Usenet administrator Richard Depew inadvertently posted the same message 200 times to a discussion group, and has expanded to generally mean 'any annoying message intended more to "flood the media" than to "express thoughts & feelings"').
