The Big #Misconception that makes me seem-Atheist to the @CopelandNetwork & -Christian to the @AtheistRepublic | @StrangeNotions #Concept #Conceive

This particular Misconception–the one that atheists take as "proof that God doesn't exist" and which Christians ... don't really think about (and I think I'll discuss why-not below)–is that 'God is a person (who is omnipotent & omnipresent).'

God is not 'a Person.'

'God as a person' is often our concept of God ... the same way (in America, anyway) our concept of Government is 'a person who makes the laws' or our concept of a big corporation is 'a person who produces & sells a major line of products-and/or-services.'

But 'God' does exist! (I'm talking about something more like 'The Holy Spirit of "ZOE" (ζωή) Love' that most people call "God," although that name actually means something more like 'Wall (around the City-Fortress).') But it's not a person!

Yet most Christians think God is 'some guy in a higher dimension whom we mortals ask for favors.' That leads me to another misconception about God ...

But first ... 'That word' (below-hyperlinked to a discussion of the reason why Christians & Atheists disagree, though they believe exactly the same things) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...

The word “Concept” is built on words that mean “Con- (intensive prefix) + to |Grasp” (Conceit, to become Pregnant)

A second misconception: that God does anything besides 'give humans the power to accomplish "God's will."'

I know; The Bible–which teaches us about God–spends a great deal of time claiming that God 'made everything happen' (brought victory to all God's people, caused the population to grow exponentially, hardened the evil rulers' hearts against him, brought peace to the world, etc.)

But do you notice that–in most of those situations–how crucial 'people who take action' are to the accomplishment of God's will? ... The reason why we were not "saved" until some 4,000 years after The Fall of Man—it took that long for humans to decide that One was worthy to be The Anointed.

Or am I looking at that wrong (or 'wrongly' 🤓)? Tell
