I've Never Described something's flavor as #Umami ... but it's one of "the Basic Flavors"---the 'sometimes Y' of flavor's vowels? I found out on @Quora
I asked Quora-users about 'the taste of Parmesan cheese,' and among their answers was the flavor-description "Umami"---savory (like monosodium glutamate, seaweed, cured fish, aged cheese or meat)
|That word| seems important; so I found out a little more about |that word| (below-linked to the thing that brought |that word| to my attention) and share my findings with you below---maybe I'll add some notes beneath (and/or you might start/continue the discussion in the comments).

The word |Umami| is the Anglicization of a Japanese word that means "Deliciousness, Pleasant Savory Taste."
