#AnnoDomini (AD, #TheYearOfOurLord): @OfficialLouisCK complains about it, which reminds me of something that makes me wonder something else ...

Louis C.K. 'complains for money' about "why THE WHOLE WORLD (except for some Jews and some other oddballs) agrees on 'what year it is'" in a video linked through 'that name' below; but first I want to understand that Year-1-calculating monk's name better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)

The name “Anno Domini (literally 'the Year of |Our Lord')” is built on ancient words that mean Year (Annual) & Lord (|Domain).

GOD's Zodiac

Louis C.K. basically says that "Christianity won"---sure, maybe Christianity doesn't out-do Buddhism in basic numbers; but 'the year-number we all agree-on' is famously known as "the number of years since the birth of Y'shua bin Yosef (a.k.a. Lord Jesus Christ (ward of Joseph)).

But it reminded me that I'd heard somewhere, Jesus wasn't actually born until A.D. 4 ... How did they determine that it was some other way in the first place.

I started looking, and the first thing I found was How Dionysius determined which year was AD 1 ... telling me (what you can read on that report), but NOT telling me ... other things---like 'who was Dionysius, that THE WHOLE WORLD should go along with his measurements (even after historians & scholars have since disputed with them)?' and 'why don't scientists and/or theologians and/or historians find out when the ACTUAL Holy Nativity was?'

The report mentions that Dionysius 'used astronomy': reading Scripture that positioned His death at age 30 on a full moon on March 25, he picked a historical 'March 25th full moon' that looked to be about the right year (looking at records from 500-to-550 years before his time), and counted back 30 years & 4 months (because everybody knew Jesus was born on December 25th, right?)

Well, wrong. Dionysius should've also applied astrology---specifically the astrology that was said to be leading the magi to His birth. That signage put His birth in August or September.

I could go on trying to find that date, but it's not the point. I guess 'the point is' that we all stay "on the same clock" by keeping in near-constant contact, and by reminding each other what time it is.
