#Mondale: Walter (the First) - Shining Example, Now Peacefully Resting | @VisitNorway @VisitSognefjord @Wikipedia @NordicVisitor

I don't know what to say ... POLITICO calls him "The Last Old-School Democrat." (Maybe 'old-school' means "handling things right, even if nobody's looking.")

My initial reaction (plus whatever response people think to give) is linked through 'the main word' below; but I feel it's more important to understand that word better. And I find that you understand words better when you look at the other words at the bases of the words you're thinking-of ...

The surname “Mondale” is built on the name of a valley in the center of Fjærland, Norway (where Walter opened a tunnel connecting the city to Skel) - #Mundal, built on ancient words that mean ... I dunno; the closest things I can find are Mandal (a nearby village) & the 'book village's name's resemblance to the Norwegian word for Monday.'
The valley's name might've been named the same way the village's was: |Dale- or |Valley of [whatever 'Mun-' stands for, as 'Man-' stands for the river-name Mǫrn (now Mandalselva)].

Truth-be-told, I don't really follow politics ... the main thing that got me interested in politics at all is probably the comedians' use of politicians' crazy behavior as material for their shows---until then, The President was basically just 'another grampa who came on the news to tell us how he was makin` sure everything was alright.'

When I think of 'Walter Mondale,' the image in my head is--I think--a drawing from MAD Magazine:
