#HarvardBloom ... Why Such a Name for 'a #ShirtPrinting Company'?

Today, I was invited to join the Harvard Bloom 'fan-group' (on Facebook). Well, I'd never heard of it; but it didn't take too long to find out (though their 'lead banner' indicates something slightly different) that they're a Screen Printing & Embroidery company.

But ... I'm not seeing what connects them to "Harvard" or to "Bloom" (though the meaning of that word (and its popular use as a surname) give me a few guesses ... maybe they let your designs & logos & mottos 'bloom' into ideas & notions & beliefs in the heads of all who see you ...)

But 'Harvard'? ... I asked them, and it turns out that 'Harvard' is the name of the street (in Tulsa, Oklahoma) where the business began "blooming."

That name (made popular by an Ivy League university) is linked to 'a group of words' that help give "that word" a place to connect to your vocabulary ... deeper sources that firm the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...

The name “Harvard” (surname of the Puritan minister who bequeathed half his estate and 260 books to the university started by the Massachusetts colonial government) stems from ancient names that mean Army Guard.

Maybe they took the name 'Harvard' because (everybody knows) it's where Mark Zuckerberg got the idea for Facebook (heck, 'the facebook' is the name of a little book they make for college-students so you can put names to the faces you see around campus!)

And--in fitting with their name--I'm going to see what groups their printing has helped 'Bloom' (expanding on each listing ... eventually):

    • Victory Christian School's Conquerors
    • Tulsa (Oklahoma) Elite - Baseball
    • Oklahoma Redline Volleyball
