Why Aren't there #Odd-Numbered Waist-Sizes (for Men's Pants)? @Quora hosts some Expert-Observations | @Bing
I have a size-37 waist. So 'the pants I can afford' don't come in my size; and 36s are a tight-squeeze while size-38 pants fall off.
I asked Bing and--while the Reddit-discussion they featured answered with the (smarmy) response that "you can find odd sizes out there if you look"--the Quora discussion they pointed-to gave a closer answer.
The one they pointed-to only gave pretty-much 'the observation that "Yup, that's about how it is!"' but that discussion linked to another discussion where an expert explained ... 'Yup, that's about how it is!' but also explained the reason why.
'That word' (below-hyperlinked to the selection of men's pants that Amazon can deliver) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...
The word “Odd” is built on ancient words that mean "Third, Additional (Deciding Vote)" (|Point of a |Tri|angle) #oddly #oddball #oddity #oddness #oddities #oddments
