Researching 'ways to make one's web-content more popular,' I am of-course presented with lots of ads for "tricks you can use to spread the word on your content or -to make search-engines think you're a big deal -etc."—many of those offers 'flavored' with the 'dreamfuel' put in our brains by movies & books etc. from the mid-`80's to more recent years.
We do need to keep 'a firm grasp of reality,' but let's let the dreamfuel have its space to burn.
That word' (actually, 'the second word used in that compound word' ... below-hyperlinked to an Amazon-search for 'cyberspace fiction') is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...
The 'stories' (novels, movies, etc.) that 'fueled' the firebox on the train that drove many of us to fill the Internet:
- TRON (and related works)
- The MATRIX series
- THE GREEN HORNET (the recent movie (not necessarily the older ones nor the comic-books nor comic-strips nor radio-show, tho they did inspire the old television-series)
- READY PLAYER ONE (combination sci-fi/nostalgia book that became a movie ...
- (... makes me think of the DUNE book- & movie-series ... reminding me of LIFEFORCE)
- Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (which I hear inspired BLADE RUNNER)
Any 'cyberspace fiction' fueling your work on the Internet? Tell me about it in the comments!
