#Literally a Reboot (or is that #Figuratively?) the #JayAndSilentBobReboot @ThatKevinSmith @JayMewes | @Wikipedia #Literal #Figurative
You remember the original 'Jay and Silent Bob' (CLERKS? JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK? ... DOGMA?), where (I think) the two characters (it's been a while since I've seen it) hear about a movie whose characters are ... SPOILER ALERT!
... 'unlicensed use' of their personal characteristics (i.e. 'Bluntman & Chronic' ARE 'Jay & Silent Bob' (irrespectively)); so Jay & Silent Bob go to Hollywood to prevent production of the film.
The reboot ... is basically the same story 'for the next generation' (not "Jay & Silent Bob's children preventing the robbery of their identities (though Kevin "Silent Bob's" Smith's daughter plays 'Jay's daughter')," but rather 'Jay & Silent Bob trying to stop a "Bluntman & Chronic"-sequel.')
Jason Lee's character explains to them the difference between a remake & a reboot, but the plot of the movie shows that 'each generation is "a reboot" of the ones previous.'
And–if you didn't 'heed' the SPOILER ALERT and went ahead & scrolled down to read this–I just figuratively 'ruined the surprise'; but I haven't literally 'ruined it' (haven't said anything about all the nostalgia-jokes ... jokes you have to 'have seen many other popular J&SB-movies to understand').
Or did I literally ruin it, but it's figuratively un-ruined?
'That word' (below-hyperlinked to Amazon selling you that movie) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...
The word “Literally” (Exactly-What-the-Text-Says, as-opposed-to Mystically- or Allegorically-Interpreted) is built on ancient words that mean "|Letter, |Alphabetic |Sign, |Book."
The word “Figuratively” is built on ancient words that mean "a |Shape, |Form, |Figure" (the |Build)
