'That word' (below-hyperlinked to a form you can use to apply for the position) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...Hotdoggers Wanted
Have you always dreamed of working with hot dogs? Well, look no further. All of your hot dog dreams just came true. We could say “drivers wanted,” but what we really mean is WIENERMOBILE navigators ready to deliver unlimited joy to thousands of people every single day.
The word “Hot Dog!” is built on words that mean “Sausages on a Split Roll” ( |Hot, |Dog ... from suspicions (sometimes confirmed) that some of the |Meat was 'Dog'; someone |Particularly Skilled or |Excellent or |Proficient (with overtones of Showing-Off), Hard Student; |Exclamation of Approval).
I'm not sure how 'Hot Dog!' became equivalent to "Alright!" ... probably the exclamation from when an athlete pulls off a sweeeeeet trick—one that's almost as tasty as the sausage-rolls most sporting-events sell at the concession-stands!
