You Can't Pray for #Others, but 'a Couple Opportunities to Donate to @BrainXcite' show How #IntercessoryPrayer Actually Works (& #NotTheWayYouThink it Works @CopelandNetwork) | #PrayerForOthers #Other #Otherwise
For a long time before- and continuing until people stop 'getting prayer wrong!' I often remind people 'what Jesus taught about proper Prayer'—that it's strictly private between You-&-God ...
There's Biblical "evidence" for-&-against that teaching
... which I'll dig into later; but first—
With people-today constantly 'asking others to "pray for them"—even going so far as to claim they need "lotsa pray'rs,"' and -constantly 'claiming to others that they "pray for them"'—people get the false idea that 'prayer to God' is some sort of 'phone-in voting system' (a la American Idol)—where 'The Powers of Heaven & Earth work together to bring-about "whatever result gets prayed-for the most."'
But NO! Prayer doesn't work that way—doesn't change God's plans! God (Our Father who art in Heaven) isn't going to give anything different if we pray a different prayer. The only thing Prayer changes is 'how we take whatever it is God gives us'—some of it (Grace, Patience, Luck, Understanding, Wisdom) we take to keep, some it we take to share with others, and some of it we don't even notice (and others may- or may not-get it instead).
How did BRAINXCITE's "Order & Mention"-partnerships bring that up?
Well, BRAINXCITE is a small company that sponsors TBI-Survivor Recovery-Activities (Scholarships, Cargiver Support, Cognitive Retraining, Reignite Fitness Programs). A bit of that support-money comes from their 'order & mention'-partnerships with restaurants—for a few hours on certain days, certain restaurants give a portion of your bill-payment to BRAINXCITE ... but if-&-only-if you mention BRAINXCITE.'That word' (below-hyperlinked to ways that you can support BRAINXCITE) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...
The word “Other” is built on words that mean “the Alternate One of the Two, a Different Person or -Thing from the One in View” (Second, Beyond).
Or am I looking at that wrong (or 'wrongly' 🤓)? Tell
