Well, she (as the Speaker of The House of Representatives) made history in the House Chambers when they approved the

The word “Pelosi (patronymic- or plural form of Peloso)” is built on “|Hairy, |Shaggy” (nickname for a man with |Long or |Unkempt |Hair & Beard).
You'd probably agree that Nancy's actions (she & Stephen Colbert recount below) actually fit her maiden-name better: D`alessandro, "Patronymic of Alessandro (Alexander—Defender of Mankind)." But she is a champion of devotion to Our Law, not to 'her own name.'
