@BuzzFeed on the #Rudeness of @Rihanna (echoing the #Rude Way Theatre-Goers have ALWAYS Been)

Tell where to send email-alerts when I update the source-finding here

'That word' (below-linked to Ben Henry's story on Rihanna's texting-during-a-Broadway-show) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which the our lexicon stands ...

The word “Rude” is built on ... shifty ground—either “Rough, Crude, Unlearned” (|Rubble) or "Red (on the notion of 'red |Meat')" (|Rufous ... the name |Rufus?)

I suppose we can excuse Rihanna's behavior, as 1) she was texting 'the show's writer (who had started the show late waiting for Rihanna's arrival), 2) it's actually less rude than times when NYC theatre-goers would actually "yell at performers they disliked to leave the stage," and 3) it's Rihanna!

(I'm not saying she has 'divine right' (like Christians give Yahweh—who murders & steals & condones adultery even though (we all know) those are violations of his very own Commandments), but I think she's allowed a few 'indulgeances' when attending a play written by one of her many 'worshippers!')

But it does remind me how movie-theatres (and 'theaters' 🤣) will ask audience to turn off digital-devices for the length of the performance (because of 'how annoying it is to be trying to watch a movie right behind some guy who's got his little screen glaring brightly as he randomly checks his email').

And it also reminds me of a few times when–either during a private conversation or during a public presentation–one person 'gets a text message' (or 'their phone rings') and they jump right into the interruption without even 'politely stopping the conversation' or 'quietly excusing themselves to a private corner.'

Or maybe I'm looking at it wrong—that's one reason
Our Father God said "It is not good for the man to be
alone":  "Because the man'll think he's right until someone else shows
him why he's not"—Won't you show me
if I'm right-or-wrong in the comments below?
