#OklahomaGazette @OKgazette keeps us up on America's #Progressive #Progress - @MacDictionary #ProgressiveJournalism #ProgressiveChristianity #Progressivism

I quote a 'station-identification' (?) from the Oklahoma Gazette (pick up the latest FREE copy every week at a location on the map linked (through 'the main word') below):
Progressive
[pruh-gres-iv] | adjective
favoring or advocating progress, change, improvement or reform, as opposed to wishing to maintain things as they are. especially in political matters.
Sounds pretty good to us. How about you?
Fiercely Local and Independent

The word “Progressive” carries the scent of “Forward + to Walk, Step, Go + Pertaining to, Tending to, Doing, Serving to do” (Characterized by Advancement ... the social/political sense originally referred to a movement in Christianity)

... Reminds me of the 'joke': "If 'Pros' are the opposite of 'Cons,' isn't 'Congress' the opposite of 'Progress'?" (And–in case you seriously wonder–no; that "Con-" means 'With,' the opposite of 'Anti-' ... only 'the-same-as Backward' in the same way "Left (opposite of Right)" would be 'the-same-as Wrong.')

... But I'm still searching—You know anything about how this word developed into 'meaning something different from the meanings traced above'? Comment below!
