Like All Americans are 'Irish' on St. Patrick's Day, we're all #Mexican on #CincoDeMayo @History #Mexico #texMex
Yes, I thought "Cinco de Mayo" was just 'Mexican Independence Day' (since we Americans commonly refer to our Independence Day as "The Fourth of July"); but it's actually "a relatively minor holiday in Mexico" celebrating an important battle in the Franco-Mexican War (the Battle of Puebla ... something like America's celebration of the Battle of Gettysburg—and–due in-part to the Mexican win there–the American Confederate army was denied French support against the Union army in our Civil War!)
The word “Mexico” is built on ancient words that mean “at the Moon's |Navel” (or Hare or |Maguey (|Aloe, |Agave)).
