A "New York Times"-article explaining that 'the popular prejudice' was actually the other way around (Coke for Whites & PEPSI for Blacks) is linked through #Pepsi below; but I feel it's more important to understand that name better. And I find that you understand names better when you look at the other words at the names' bases ...
The word “Pepsi” is built on the drug-name Pepsin (as it was originally patented as a digestive aid).
