I'm obviously not coming at this the way most 'dissenters' do–reminding me that Lord Jesus Christ was my favorite dissenter–but rather ... well, 'Dear Diary,....'

Today, in the 'Stories' section of my Facebook homepage, Christian Hip Hop Hits Just As Hard mentioned 'God Over Me'-Apparel (which offers shirts & hats etc. like the one below).

I'm a bit of 'a troll,' so I enjoy replying with something smarmy about "Imaginary Daddy in the Sky" or something. But I also felt a little like asking, 'What proof do you have that "God" is watching-over you?'

But I immediately knew what their answer would be: text from The Bible that says he is (or–if I were to point to some real proof that The Bible was false–they would point to historical events that happened, coupled with Biblical text that predicted them).

Maybe The Bible doesn't have the status of 'historical reference' afforded to news-footage or official-documents, but Christians quote it as if it did ... and it does, because of something that Jesus promised His disciples:

If two of you agree about anything on Earth, it will be held true by Heaven.

And The Bible (dissenters love to say) was written by 'humans.' (Christians defend its status as 'The Word of God' by claiming it was all written by 'humans inspired by The Holy Spirit,' but that's not why we believe it!)

We believe it because it was written by humans ... and approved by humans—not a single Bible is published unless at least two people agree on every word in it, and no one-prints the agreements nor -wears the printed agreements unless they also agree. By wearing The Agreement, printing The Agreement or promoting the wearing of The Agreement, people put 'Their Word' (their 'Vote,' their 'stamp of approval) on it; and Their Word outweighs any dissent they don't allow against it!

And then 'the dissenters' will hold to their view for 'the same reason'—except 'the words they use on it' are "Material Evidence," "Science (repeatable experimentation)"; but most of them regard it as 'proven' simply because the scientists said it is that way (no need to go off and redo the experiment themselves! just 'it sounds reasonable,' 'we could do the experiment if we really wanted to,' and 'the person reporting it seems "believable."')

'The freedom to choose to test the results' outweighs 'the agreements of the herd (whose leader we are forbidden from testing!)

'That word' (below-hyperlinked to God Over Me apparel) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...
