Is #OklahomaGazette @OKgazette against ALL #Firearms or Do They just Ask that You Keep `em #Concealed? (or -Keep `em Low #Caliber?) @OpenCarryORG #Firearm #OpenCarry #ConcealedCarry #Conceal
Oklahoma Gazette puts it this way (on a huge back-page (space usually used for car-advertisements) ad):
The only thing more impressive than wearing an AR-15 out in public is literally anything else.
Fiercely Local and Independent
I'd overheard some big protests, saying such high-caliber weapons should be reserved to military usage (letting private possessors keep only low caliber firearms).
I'd also overheard some news about firearm-legislation, so I searched "Open Carry" and found out that Oklahoma modified its "Concealed Carry Permit" to just a "Carry Permit" (so permit-holders can carry their firearms concealed or -openly as they see fit).
'Those words' (below-hyperlinked to Oklahoma's "Open Carry"-page (with more information on Oklahoma's firearm-licenses)) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...
The word “Firearm” is obviously built by the words “Fire (or Bedrock beneath that word) + Arm (specifically 'to Fit Together')” (anything which Expels a Missile by Combustion of a Gunpowder-like Substance).
The word “Conceal” is built on words that mean “the intensive prefix (Con-) + to Cover, Save” (to Hide or Shield from Observation).
The word “Caliber” is built on words that mean “of what Balance (Libra)” (Inside-Diameter of the Barrel of the Gun).
Or am I looking at that wrong (or 'wrongly' 🤓)? Tell
me how-wrong/right I am in the comments below 😁
