'That word' is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which the our lexicon stands ...
The word “Either” is built on “Always (Aye) + Which of Two, Whether” (Each, Every, One or the Other; in Any Case, at All (expressing Negation); with the same Foundation as ...).
The word “Or” (not '-Or' the word-forming suffix making nouns of quality, state or condition) is built on Foundations that grew to form “Choice between Alternative”-words (Other, Otherwise, enten-eller (Either/Or)).
The word “Neither” is built on “No (Not) + Which of Two (Whether)” (Not in Any Case).
The word “Nor” is built on “No + Or” (And Not).
