(Thinking Too Much) #WhyMe? "God Has a Special Plan for--" Phooey! Mostly #JustForFun - #Fun #HavingFun #FunTimes

I suppose that's what people want to know about themselves, "Why Me?" ... that is, 'why does anyone need me?'

I first think of the typical-Christian responses, "Only God knows!... God Has a Special Plan for Each of Us!... To Give Glory to God!" and other responses Christians (and other religions) give instead of 'Don't ask me; I've got my own problems to worry about.'

But–other than 'tax-paying citizen' or 'parent' or 'teacher' or 'doctor' (notice I'm not saying 'spouse' yet)–others generally only need you as 'an approving witness to their Fun'—they say they want to 'share the fun with you' (and they often actually-do want to share the fun ... to the point where it wouldn't be fun without you!)

Having Fun (going to movies & restaurants & concerts & sports-games & museums & worship-services & political gatherings (both Town Halls and Candidates' rallies), playing video-games & musical-instruments, sometimes even 'doing your job') doesn't seem worthwhile if you're the only one doing it!

Sure, you can have fun 'all by yourself'; but it doesn't seem "right" unless you've got someone there with you to argue/agree that it's more/less fun than it was-before/should-be or -that you're done with that fun and it's time to move on to the next (possibly more-"serious") fun.

'That word' is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which the our lexicon stands ...

The word “Fun” is built on ancient words that mean “Befool” (|Fond, Funny).

The "Beach Boys"-song I link to above is 'the first song I think of (they call it "an EarWorm") with the word "Fun" in it.' Then my mind goes to 'the Carnival-Cruises theme-song' (though that song was actually from vaudeville in the 1920s, written in the same vein as Roger Miller's "King of the Road" (which was about a homeless boxcar-hopper): "Not much money, Oh! But honey, Ain't We Got Fun?")

Or maybe I'm looking at it wrong—that's one reason
Our Father God said "It is not good for the man to be
alone":  "Because the man'll think he's right until someone else shows
him why he's not"—Won't you show me
if I'm right-or-wrong in the comments below?
