The word “Persist” is built on “to Stand Steadfast (Forward, Through)”
Napoleon Hill goes on a bit about 'why persistence is so crucial to your success.' I hope you don't need me to persuade you of that, and I'll skip ahead to 'the necessary ingredients for persistence' (he calls them "necessary steps"):
  1. A DEFINITE PURPOSE BACKED BY BURNING DESIRE FOR ITS FULFILLMENT.
  2. A DEFINITE PLAN, EXPRESSED IN CONTINUOUS ACTION.
  3. A MIND CLOSED TIGHTLY AGAINST ALL NEGATIVE AND DISCOURAGING INFLUENCES (even "friends" who don't believe in your plan!)
  4. A FRIENDLY ALLIANCE WITH ONE OR MORE PERSONS WHO WILL ENCOURAGE YOU TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH BOTH PLAN AND PURPOSE (and not just your 'MasterMind,' but also others who have very-little to do with your industry—good-good friends)




Or maybe I'm looking at it wrong—that's one reason
 Our Father God said "It is not good for the man to be
 alone":  "Because the man'll think he's right until someone else shows
 him why he's not"—Won't you show me
