Yes, the 4th of July is America's Independence Day (and only America's, as far as I know); but a) he isn't currently 'an American' (maybe he still has "access to his citizenship"–can still vote in American elections, etc.–but he is "living in ... Korea? Vietnam? ... somewhere in the Orient"), and b) the video below is more about 'how America is NON-independent' ... how he's constantly fighting against the 'mind-slavery' of American Nationalism.
But something that 'drowns out' the complaining that's typical of Liberals (Leftists, Socialists, Communists) is his 'camaraderie' (also spelled "comradery")—That word (the first one linked below)—I felt like there might be something more to that word ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which the linked THING builds ...

The word “Comrade” is built on ancient words that mean "(room|mate in a) |Vaulted Room, |Chamber" (Camera ... maybe you can tell me how that makes sense in the comments).
